Yonex Eclipsion Z3 and X3 launch!
On March 10, 2023, the latest version of the Yonex badminton shoes Eclipsion Z and X was launched, namely the 3rd edition Z3. This type of shoe is the most stable version so far from Yonex.
Due to the new Semi-One-Piece-Sole, the shoe has more contact with the ground and the lateral shell on the forefoot and reinforcements around the heel provide extra stability. The upper of the shoe is made of Durable Skin Light, a flexible and lightweight material that provides a very comfortable fit.
The ECLIPSION Z has been spotted on court with several champions, including the 2022 French Open women's doubles champions, Tan Pearly and Thinaah Muralitharan and the 2022 European Championships women's doubles gold medalists, Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva.
Key features Yonex Eclipsion Z3
Focused on stability and fit, the ECLIPSION series is designed for the most advanced and complex footwork, providing confidence with every step and jump. The enhanced POWER CUSHION provides a comfortable fit with improved stability, ideal for fast and agile footwork in today's fast-paced game on the court.
To prevent lateral vibration during side steps, the newly designed Yonex eclipsion Z3 features a Lateral "shell" and stability reinforcement, which provide support to the areas that absorb the most force, while also stabilizing movement and reducing lateral vibration.
Together, the Semi One-Piece Sole and Radial Blade Sole increase grip and contact area, which improves stability during landing and minimizes the risk of sprains. The upper is made of Durable Skin Light, a polyurethane-based material that offers rubber-like flexibility and hard film rigidity, providing a comfortable fit while maintaining a secure and snug feel. The inner shoe is remade to provide a snug fit yet easy to put on and take off when desired.

Difference between Yonex Eclipsion X3 and Z3
The Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion Z3 is the top version, but it is designed together with the Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion X3 with the same performance concept. The Eclipsion X3 only features Power Cushion and not Power Cushion+, meaning the shoe provides just a little less cushioning and absorbs shock a fraction less well. In addition, the shoe is also not designed with Feather Bounce Foam, Power Graphite Sheet and Radial Blade Sole.
On the other hand, the Yonex Eclipsion X3 does have a Hexagrip Sole for the desired grip on the court.

The Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion X3 will be available from approximately the end of May 2023. Pre-order the shoe now in our webshop and be the first to receive it when it is delivered.
Difference between Yonex Eclipsion Z3 and Yonex SHB 65Z 3?
If you are used to the Yonex SHB 65z3 and switch it to the Eclipsion than you'll immediately feel the difference in stability and protection. The Yonex Eclipsion Z3 provides a solid feel around the heel and ankle. The front part feels higher and reduce the recovery speed after each lunge. Eclipsion definitely is made for massive protection and recovery speed. This shoe is in general more stable and a bit stiffer.
However, the Yonex 65z 3 feels more flexible and for a certain group more comfortable. Another advantage of the 65z3 is the cushioning for vertical jumps. This is an allround shoe which still has its own advantages.
Choose for Eclipsion Z3 when you need massive protection and extra speed in horizontal directions. Nevertheless, you may consider to stick at 65z3 when cushioning for vertical jumps more important.
Suitable for multiple indoor sports
The Yonex Eclipsion sports shoes are specially designed for indoor indoor hall sports, which involve a lot of turning and twisting. Sportsmen who want to be agile and have to react quickly choose with this shoe, an absolute winner. So, do you need a new badminton shoe or squash shoe? Choose the Eclipsion X or Z!
Comments
thank you so much for the replies. i haven't have the chance to use 65z3 yet and that's why i am asking what to choose. but from your comparisson, it seems like you suggested me eclipsion z3 more for the protection, isn't it? however, do you think the difference of the two when jumping is a big difference? because I got my injury after I jump for a netkill (similar to Shi Yu Qi ankle sprain vs Lee Chong Wei All England 2017 https://www.youtube.com/live/SjlJ_cV3DdA?feature=share&t=2993) and I want to prevent this as much as I can. thank you!
I am trying and testing the 65z3 and eclipsion Z3 shoes for you for an accurate comparison.
