Hello all,
As a sponsor player of KW FLEX Badminton specialist shop, I would like to introduce myself.
I am Rebecca van den Berg, 22 years old. I am in my last year of the study Sports Science. In addition, I am a lot active in making training schedules and I give badminton training one day a week to children of various ages.
What does my badminton career look like so far?
I have been playing badminton since I was five. I have seen my brothers play, this gave me extra motivation to also practice this sport. I myself played at a badminton school and badminton academy in Friesland. In addition, I have had various trainers over the years, whereby it became clear that each trainer has his own view on the specialties within badminton. This has helped me to think for myself and to develop a broader knowledge. Since 2017 I have been playing at BCH, in 's-Hertogenbosch.
What goals do I want to achieve in the future?
There are a number of goals that I want to achieve in the future. First of all, it seems great to play in the Eredivisie. Of course there are also possibilities to play abroad, such as competition and international tournaments. I also want to place myself higher on the National Ranking List in the women's category.
In addition to these stated goals, I strive to improve myself on a mental and physical level, so that I can share my experience and knowledge with novice badminton players.

What am I doing now that we can't play badminton?
At the moment everyone is in a very unpleasant situation, because the Corona virus means that no one can practice the sport (s) that give relaxation and satisfaction. Still, I try to keep myself mentally and physically fit. I do this by sticking to my own training schedules. This is where exercises emerge that focus on the specialties of badminton. Think of footwork, strength exercises, endurance, etc.
Stay positive!
It is important to be positive and creative in this situation, because this is the only way to get through this special time!
