Which discipline do you mainly play?
Play pleasure - enthusiasm - learning basic strokes
The 1st option is that you are relatively new to badminton and are still learning how to execute certain strokes. On average, you play once a week, and then you follow a basic training, and you play a few matches.
The 2nd option is that you have been playing badminton for quite some time, but have not reached a very high level. You're just having fun and don't have the ambition to train yourself to a high level. You are familiar with most of the strokes, and you know roughly how to execute them. Your strokes are not super consistent and your footwork can be improved a lot. Your enthusiasm compensates for a lot, so you can still do well at the beginning of the matches. Unfortunately, as the competition progresses and your fitness level decreases, the number of unforced errors will increase. This should not spoil the fun, because it's all about having fun!
At this level you play with nylon shuttles, and you slowly improve your technique and tactics. You learn by doing, and it does not really matter to you at which level you play badminton.
In general, you miss certain properties such as strength, control or speed. You can compensate for this with specific badminton rackets and thus improve. The goal is to improve your less strong points and to strengthen your strong points.
