What is padel or padeling?

Padel is in most cases seen as a combination of tennis and squash. Both sports have been around for a long time, and many people have played them once or on a regular basis. Padel is a sport that combines action with fun and social interaction. It is a great sport for players of all ages and skill levels because it is both quick and easy to pick up. Most players get the hang of the basics within the first half hour, allowing them to enjoy the game.

What makes padel fun?

Padel is less dominated by strength, technique and serve than tennis, making it an ideal game for men, women and youth to play together. An important skill is competitive skill, as points are won through strategy rather than sheer strength and power. The ball is hit before or after it bounces against the surrounding glass walls, adding a unique dimension to the sport compared to conventional tennis. In recent years, this young sport has seen a big jump in the number of practitioners.

The padel court!

Padel is a mix between tennis and squash. It is usually played in doubles on an enclosed court surrounded by walls of glass and metal piece. The court is one-third the size of a tennis court. At service time it is not allowed to bounce the ball against the metal piece, after that it does not matter. Padel courts are built both in the open air (often at tennis clubs) and in indoor sports halls. In summer, it is of course very nice to be able to play outdoors and in winter it is especially nice to play padel in dry and not freezing conditions.

How do you score points in padel?

The scoring and rules are very similar to those of tennis, with the main difference being that in padel the serve is under the armpits and the balls can be played against the glass walls in the same way as in squash. The rules allow the use of the back and side walls, resulting in longer rallies than in a conventional tennis match. The ball can bounce off any wall, but may only touch the ground once before being hit back. Points can be scored when the ball bounces twice in the court, lands outside the court or is hit into the net.

Buy padel rackets

In the KW FLEX Racket store, you can find the right padel racket quickly and easily! Whether you are looking for a brand padel racket, a cheap padel racket or a padel racket with a specific shape, you can find it here! The game is quick and easy to learn, making it a fun and addictive sport to play. Using a short, stringless racket with an elastic surface with holes and a tennis ball with low compression, you play padel.

The range of our rackets is constantly expanding. To make a choice between the rackets, you can use the price filter, color filter and choose a particular brand.

Brands padel rackets

As KW FLEX is still in the process of expanding its range of padel rackets, there is only a limited choice of brands at this moment. In our assortment you will find the FZ Forza padel rackets and the famous padel brand Dropshot. This brand is considered worldwide as THE padel brand and is suitable for beginning, advanced and professional padel players.

Get your padel balls here

Padel balls are almost the same size as tennis balls. However, the air pressure is slightly lower. Everything else is the same: rubber on the inside, felt on the outside. This is the reason why padel balls are slower than tennis balls and do not bounce as well. This slows down the game somewhat, making it less about power and more about tactics.

Which racket bags can I use?

Originally KW FLEX is a badminton store, but over the years we have expanded our range to padel, tennis and squash. Our current bags are suitable for all of these rackets, so you don't need a different bag for each sport. A padel racket is slightly shorter than a tennis, badminton or squash racket. You can choose between different sizes of racket bags.
